LAW SUPPORT

About LawSupport

A team of Belgian-educated legal professionals helping international businesses establish and operate in Belgium since 2019.

Our Story

LawSupport was founded in 2019 by Sophie Mertens, a corporate lawyer with experience at Deloitte Legal Belgium. Having spent years advising international clients on Belgian corporate law, she saw a clear gap: foreign entrepreneurs needed a single partner who could handle everything — from company registration to bank account opening, accounting, and immigration.

Today, LawSupport is a team of five specialists, each with a Belgian law degree and Big Four background. We serve international entrepreneurs, investors, fintech companies, and corporations establishing operations in Belgium. Our clients come from over 30 countries and speak to us in English, French, Dutch, and German.

Every member of our team started their career at a major firm — Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG — before joining LawSupport. This combination of institutional expertise and personalised service is what sets us apart.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is LawSupport a regulated legal and accounting firm?

Yes. LawSupport's legal advisors operate under the supervision of the Belgian Bar Association (Barreau de Bruxelles / Balie van Brussel). Our accounting and tax advisory services comply with the standards of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Belgium (IAB/IEC). All client data is processed in accordance with Belgian and EU GDPR requirements. As a YMYL (law and finance) service, we maintain professional indemnity insurance covering all advisory mandates.

What qualifications does your team hold?

Our five advisors collectively hold law degrees from KU Leuven, UGent, UCLouvain, and VUB, with post-graduate specialisations in tax law, immigration law, and corporate law. Before joining LawSupport, team members trained at Big Four firms — PwC, EY, Deloitte, and KPMG — and Belgian law firms. Thomas Claes is a registered IAB/IEC accountant-tax advisor. All team members participate in ongoing CPD (continuing professional development) through their respective professional bodies.

How do fees work — are there hidden costs?

We use fixed-fee pricing for the vast majority of services. Company registration starts from €490 all-inclusive (government fees, notarial fees for BV, bank account opening excluded). Full market-entry packages start from €890. Monthly accounting retainers start from €150/month. We provide a written fee quote before any engagement begins. There are no hourly billing surprises — if your project scope changes, we agree the additional fee in writing first. See our full pricing page for details.

Do you work with clients remotely?

Yes — the majority of our clients never visit our Brussels office in person. We handle all document exchanges digitally using secure file sharing, conduct consultations via video call, and manage government filings electronically where Belgian law permits. Clients based in the US, UAE, UK, and across Asia work with us entirely remotely. Where a physical presence in Belgium is legally required (such as company incorporation before a notary), we can act under power of attorney on your behalf.
